Setia Bicara opened its doors in Johor Bahru with a straightforward purpose: to give families in difficult circumstances a place where they could speak openly and receive honest legal guidance without pressure or pretence. The name means "loyal counsel" in Malay — and that spirit guides every matter we handle.
Family law touches people at some of their most vulnerable moments — a separation, a custody dispute, an uncertain path forward. Farid handles divorce proceedings and child arrangement matters with a focus on reaching fair outcomes without unnecessary conflict. He trained in Kuala Lumpur and relocated to Johor Bahru in 2017.

For non-Muslim families, the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976 and the Guardianship of Infants Act 1961 set out the framework for divorce, custody, and maintenance. Setia Bicara practises under these civil statutes and works in the civil courts of Johor Bahru and the surrounding districts.
